Hampshire Shakespeare Young Company Takes To The Stage With The Winter's Tale
July 22, 2002 - Hadley, MA - The stage will belong to the Hampshire Shakepeare Young
Company as they present their own production of The Winter’s Tale, Friday
through Sunday, August 2-4. Throughout the run of the mainstage version of
the play, Young Company members have been playing small supporting roles,
but now they get to show what they can do on their own with this emotionally
complex play. All performances begin at 7 pm at The Hartsbrook School, 193
Bay Road in Hadley.
Under the direction of Laura Patnode, the teen-aged members of the Young
Company, many of whom have been with Hampshire Shakespeare for several
years, explore the blend of tragedy and comedy that makes this play unique.
Steve Eldridge coaches the young actors in their roles, and Sarah Wilson
provides support as producer.
Tickets for the Young Company performances are $5 for all. Reservations are
not necessary, but it is advisable to arrive early for a good seat. Call
